David Poleto
Managing Director
David Poleto is currently Vice President of Park Strategies, LLC. David joined Park Strategies, LLC in January of 2003 after serving four years in the administration of Governor George Pataki. Park Strategies is a government consulting, lobbying, and business development firm with offices in Albany, New York City and Washington DC.
Prior to joining Park Strategies, LLC, David was the Director of Special Groups and Coalitions for the 2002 Friends of Pataki Campaign Committee. As Director he was responsible for securing and integrating union and ethnic coalition endorsements into the campaign.
On December 27, 2000 Governor Pataki appointed Poleto as his Director of Regulatory Reform. The director is responsible for assisting Governor George Pataki's efforts to promote new private sector job creation by streamlining comprehensive business permitting and licensing assistance. GORR also provides comprehensive business permitting and licensing assistance to companies wishing to grow or expand in New York State.
Poleto, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the State University of New York at Oswego, began his career in government with New York State Senate Majority Leader Warren M. Anderson.
Poleto subsequently served as Capital Region Coordinator/Director of Casework for United States Senator Alfonse M. D'Amato, managing the Senator's Albany district office, an office with jurisdiction over 21 upstate counties. Poleto represented Senator D'Amato at meetings of business, constituent, and professional groups. He facilitated the Senator's state visits, conducted "Constituent Outreach" programs, and supervised and coordinated casework management system and staff.
From 1991 to 1998 Poleto served as Senator D'Amato's Director of State Operations. In that capacity he oversaw the activities of the Senator's district offices in Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. His activities included broad-based community liaison, interaction with the State Legislature; and providing assistance to individuals, community, civic and business groups that interfaced with the federal government.
In January 1999 Poleto was appointed as Governor George E. Pataki's Director of Regional Affairs, supervising the Governor's Regional Representative Offices throughout New York State. He assisted citizens with information relating to services from the state government and acted as a liaison with local governments and local government organizations.
In September 1999 Governor Pataki appointed Poleto as his Director of Scheduling. In that capacity Poleto organized the Governor's schedule by coordinating the activities of the Governor and senior staff. He formulated scheduling strategies, directed the flow of requests for Governor Pataki's participation in public and private events, and supervised the Governor's advance team.
Poleto is married to the former Deborah A. Volz. They have two children, Rachel and David, and reside in Latham, New York.
