Dr. Ronald Gade is Managing Director of the New York City-based Gade Group, LLC and a pioneer in looking at new approaches in the quality of care in a cost-effective manner. The Gade Group, LLC was created to assist in the operation of hospitals through the provision of a unique management system and provide the key personnel required to assist in its implementation. The Gade Group offers a full range of consultative services and interim management solutions as well as a wide range of services including, but not limited to, hospital restructuring, continuation or alteration of an existing restructuring process, strategic planning, as well as the analysis of the individual components of a hospital or healthcare network.
Prior to creating the Gade Group in January 2005, Dr Ronald Gade served as President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Barnabas Hospital in New York City. During his tenure at St. Barnabas Hospital, he was able to create a uniquely successful integrated health care system which both fulfilled the hospital's clinical mission and restored its financially viability. Brooklyn Hospital Center was restored to financial balance in a strikingly similar manner. While president of St Barnabas, Dr. Gade consulted to other facilities with similar success.
In April of 2004, Dr. Gade retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Barnabas Hospital and established Strategic Programs, LLC in December of 2004, a company which offers consultative services to the health care industry.
Since 1995, Dr. Gade has been a Clinical Professor of Radiology at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. In addition, he worked in the Department of Radiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York from 1975 to 1978.
Dr. Gade graduated from the New York Medical College in 1969 and from New York University in 1965. In 1967, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and received Honors when he took part two of the National Boards where he ranked in the top 68 Candidates. Dr. Gade is a board certified radiologist and was licensed in New York State to practice medicine in 1970. He held a Medical Residency at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and Bellevue Hospital Center from 1969 to 1971, and a Surgical Residency at the New York Medical College in New York from 1971 to 1972. Dr. Gade was also granted an NIH Fellowship in Academic Radiology from 1973 to 1977. In 1970 he was certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, in 1976 by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, and in 1977 by the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Gade has been appointed to several Medical Boards since 1986. From 1993 to 2002 he served on the Board of Trustees for the New York Institute of Technology, and from 1994 to 2002 he was elected to the NYCOM Board of Governors at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. In July of 2006, Dr. Gade was named as a consultant to HUD where he advises HUD on the strategic direction for the Hospital Program and on troubled hospitals.
Dr. Gade has published numerous articles in various scientific journals such as The Journal of Urology and Investigative Radiology. He is also an author of a chapter in a medical text book. Additionally, Dr. Gade has collaborated on a large number of paper presentations.
Dr. Gade is a native of New York and currently resides with his family in Sands Point, Long Island and is resident in The Gade Group in New York, NY.
